About Sophiometrics
Background
During his doctoral research, founder Patrick Dubois, PhD, discovered curious contradictions in the scientific literature on personality, decision-making, and cognition. This led to an interdisciplinary approach revealing an interesting overlap coinciding with the emerging field of empirical wisdom, yet using techniques as yet overlooked. Reviewing the existing psychometrics market, he found nothing comparable, and given the escalating economic costs of poor wisdom in knowledge industries, industrial application seemed warranted.
Philosophy
The underlying psychological trait captured by Sophiometrics, associated with patience, critical reflection, and intellectual humility, represents a waning value in a culture that rewards careless, selfish, overconfidence. The “Move fast and break things” philosophy has some value, but often with long-term costs. Artificial Intelligence promises exponential gains in ability, but without growth in self-awareness, we’re making a Faustian bargain. Because the unmeasured often goes unnoticed, Sophiometrics provides crucial infrastructure for fostering a resurgence of valuing wisdom in the workplace.
Mission
Sophiometrics aims to disrupt the assessment industry by validating the material gains of having wisdom measured and valued.
Don’t wait for decision risk to become decision damage.
Measure what’s missing. Build a wiser workforce.
